Re: door/window/weather seals
good question. Just today i noticed my driver glass was moving in and out as i drove. So to make it all new im going to get out my LMC truck catalog and add up the parts i need. They have an online site with diagram pics also....www.lmctruck.com or you can google it too... Be nice to not hear the wind noise and rain dropping in...

Re: door/window/weather seals
I did this to my old '87 last year. It is very time consuming, but well worth the effort. I bought my seals from http://www.americanclassicseals.com/...-fullsize.html, and had no issues. Be sure and verify that your vent window seals are truly one piece vs. 2 piece. The '87 should have been one piece, but it actually had 2 piece vent window seals...and they DO NOT interchange...ask me how I know . If you are going to do the vent windows, be sure and get the 2 "pivot" rivots for the upper/outer pivot, as this will have to be drilled out to seperate the vent window from the frame. Most everything else goes pretty smooth.
One more thing, if your truck needs new door pins, this is a great time to do it since you will have the door all apart anyway. And if you do this, don't forget the striker pin. I did all of this at the same time, and OMG, it was like a new truck! And here is the vent window seal link; http://www.americanclassicseals.com/...-fullsize.html Last edited by nlped; 05-26-2010 at 08:40 AM. Reason: added link |

Re: door/window/weather seals
+1 on the vent window seals. I had the same problem.
Check out these guys http://clestersauto.com/default.aspx I just used their window felts and channels when I did the"85. Fit like a glove. They're really nice folks, too. The felts and channels are a PITA. You pretty much have to pull the windows. If you are patient and careful, should be able to get it done, though.

Re: door/window/weather seals
I have a question pertaining to the wind noise at speed. It is so loud i can't hear the other person speak without them yelling at me. would weather stripping help this or are thereany other solutions?

Re: door/window/weather seals
If it is coming through your wing windows I have a good solution if you never use them. I use a thin bead of black silicon on the inside and it quiets them right up.
