What are you guys using for lowered shocks?
Im just wondering what you guys are running for lowered shocks on these trucks. I have an 1980 1/2t 2wd short box. Cut two spring coils out of the front and flipped the rear myself. Ghetto, I know but it has to do for now. Im running pretty close to bottoming the stock ones out by just bouncing on the truck, so roadworthyness is an issue. Thanks in advance!

Got mine from McGaughys. I'm going to put shock extenders on the back because I only have 1.5' travel right now.

Re: What are you guys using for lowered shocks?
oem type shocks (Monroe's, maybe), with shock extenders on the rear. With one coil cut, it didn't make enough difference to need new ones on the front. That, and replacements can be found cheap anywhere.

Re: What are you guys using for lowered shocks?
Were did you get your toxic shocks at? Does it tell you which ones you need depending on your drop? Glad I read this because I was just going to order the doeschtech's when I ordered my Western Chassis 5/7 drop.

Re: What are you guys using for lowered shocks?
If I remember correctly you have the same Western Chassis 5/7 drop I am going to order. I noticed toxic shocks come for a 4-6 inch rear drop is that close enough? Also, since the 5" front drop consist of a 2.5 inch spindle and 2.5 inch spring do I need to order the front shocks that are just for 0"-2" of drop? I figure the spindle doesn't need to be taken into account. Thanks man.

Re: What are you guys using for lowered shocks?
I run Belltech Nitro 2's on my 2 door Tahoe and so far I've been pleased with them.
It definitely rides nice. |
