Re: New paint job on my 72 burb
I bought this burb last year from a board member. He had the body all ready for paint. It was straight and rust free. As you've read in the post, I just had it painted. I can give anyone whose interested the phone # of the guy who painted it and he can verify the condition of the body.
The interior and door jams were painted as well. I bought this for my boys and I to work on. Since owning it, we have sanded and painted the inner fender wells, put a new starter on and we are working on grounding all the electrical. The interior is in decent shape. The dashboard has been removed and will need a new one, the seats will need to be re-done. I have 4 seats--2 long/2 short. The interior door panels are all there, as well as all the trim. The motor is original (I think). It's a 350 with an edlebrock carb (I think it's the 650). If you google all my posts you know that I've been having a hard time starting it. I'm still not sure why it hasn't started. I've checked the battery (it's good) and replaced the starter. I'm thinking it's got to be the timing, but I'm in-experienced in doing that. The tires are all-terrian T/A BF Goodrich. The PO has told me that they have less than a 1,000 miles on them. This is a 4 x 4. Doesn't have air. I'm planning on getting more pictures posted once it stops raining. I keep the burb in the car port. In one way, I hope it doesn't sell, but if it does, I want it to go to someone who will take care of it. That's why I'm posting it first on this board. Let me know if you/anyone have any more questions or if you want pictures of something specific. Thanks, Joe |

Re: New paint job on my 72 burb
**********UPDATE ON OL'BLUE**********
I was set on selling ol' blue because of the poor job market in KC and the construction industry is suffering poorly. I didn't want to sell my burb but felt is was in the best interest for my family. Last Sunday at church, a friend of mine visited us. We all went out for lunch afterwards mainly because we're friends, but also because she said she wanted to talk to me. During lunch my friend informed me that they were getting ready to start their own construction company and they asked me if I would work for them! Of course I told them I would and I start in 2 weeks. All of this became official tonight--which is why I'm writing this. The other great news about all this is now I don't have to sell ol' blue. I know there were some who was interested in her and I apologize for the inconviences this may have caused you. I appreciate your interest in buying ol' blue and hope you will understand. I will continue (although I never stopped) putting ol' blue back together and gathering advice and information from this great board. Thank you for understanding and God bless. God is so good to me!
