Anyone fitted an OBS sway bar to their 73-87? Im about to...
Yup, just as the title states...
I picked up a OE sway bar, brackets and endlinks from the bone yard for 25 bucks a few months back. That afternoon I spent a while under the truck to get ideas on how to mount it. Its a tight fit between the shocks and all. In the end, it looks do-able. Yes there are manufacturers that sell rear sway bar kits but I dont want to spend a lot of money. We got a new-hire at work and we started talking .. long story short, hes building a ford rat rod. neat build but the really neat thing is hes done fabbing stuff and has 6"x10ft long 3/16 plate metal, and 2x4 rectangle 3/16 tubing laying around woot woot. he gave me some of both and I bought him lunch. Looks like this weekend I might be able to fab up something. Originally I was going to do 1.5x3" rectange tubing and notch it so it can be attached to the axle, lengthen the factory end links and call it a day. With that game plan laid out, we will see what happens. clint ...this is where the thread starts.

Here we go again. I like your "outside the box" thinking.

Sounds like you know something I don't with that post.

Nothing negative implied at all. I was sincere in my meaning that I like how you take OEM parts and make them work. Keep it up...
