Arrow Super chevy show !

I guess it's about time around the country for the SUPER CHEVY SHOWS !

let me tell you a little story ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I alway's loved the super chevy show in BRISTOL TN. my wife and I went to it each year it was a great part of our summer , in 1998 I was laid off work and not doing to good when the super chevy show weekend came around that summer , I did not really have the money to go but thought it would be nice to get everything else off my mind for a day and what better way to do that than enjoy OLD CHEVYS !
SO , I had $50 buck's for the day and added it up entry fee was alway's $5 and kid's were free so figured $10 buck's for that , then gas figured $20 and that would leave $20 for a hot dog , SOUNDS GOOD HUH ?

GOT TO THE GATE and noticed walking up that they had security guard's ?
and not PEE WEE HERMAN security guards either ,,,,,,,,,,,,
so we walked up and the guy said HOW MANY ? I said it's two adult's and my two kid's , he said allright that's $160 BUCK'S
I THOUGHT HE WAS JOKING ? I STARTED LOOKING AROUND FOR A HIDDEN CAMERA OR SOMETHING ??? I asked him how much ? he said it again $160 !
he said it's $40 BUCK's a person and you have 4 so that's $160 BUCK'S !

once I figured out he wasn't joking (THIS GUY WAS NO CAR GUY HE WAS JUST A SMART A$$ THAT THEY PUT THERE TO COLLECT THE ENTRY FEES)
I told him %&^^$#@@$$$$$$$$$$$$&*(*()))*@!@#$%$%#@!!!$$%%%
and #@!!@%^*&*(()_)__)(*^%$#%^^^&&***((
when I got finished I told him that I would NEVER go to ANYTHING related to super chevy or buy a super chevy magazine EVER ! and I never have either ,
that was 12 year's ago now and every summer when this time come's around my blood start's boiling just the same as it did that day ,,,,,,,,,,,

ANYBODY ELSE GOT ANY FOND MEMORIES OF SUPER CHEVY ?

Re: Super chevy show !

I don't see how they could charge that much. I have been to many shows and the most I have ever paid was $20 a person. Thats insane. I wouldn't do it either.

Re: Super chevy show !

For my local show spectators are free and car entry is only $10, I wouldn't even consider paying $40 a head just to go spend more money inside. I can only imagine how much they were charging for the beer and hot dogs!

Re: Super chevy show !

I have gone about a dozen times at Dinviddie, Va and have never paid for than 20 dollars. 40 is just a rip-off. I would not go either for that price.

Re: Super chevy show !

they only did the $40 per person that one year they lowered it to $20 in year's after but the feeling it left me with will keep me away from that event and anything related to it ,
I mean I am A CHEVY GUY ! and LOVE THIS STUFF ! EAT SLEEP AND BREATH IT !
for my brand name show to do that just make's you feel bad in general ,,,,,,
tell you what I WOULD NOT GO IF IT WAS FREE NOW !
it's the same as store's charging $39.95 for D flashlight batterie's in a blackout , or gas station's charging $10 buck's a gallon for gas when a hurricane hit's , the only difference is that we don't have to attend they thought THOSE GEAR HEADS WILL PAY ANYTHING TO GET IN HERE SO LET'S STICK IT TO THEM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think it's wrong

Re: Super chevy show !

I find it super ridiculous to charge a cover fee to go look at these buckets, hell even when I go to Barret Jackson I never pay anything always get four day passes for free. I only pay when the show is for a cause other than that if I want to look at something I go on the internet...
