Removing ECM (I hate wires)

This would be on a 84 k10. I swapped in a crate 350 and an sm465. I have got rid of most of the transmission hookups that went to the 700r4. What would be the down falls of putting in a non-computer controlled distributor and carb. I have the distributor and carb to use so thats not a problem... I havent looked at the wiring diagram to much but I was hoping it would be simple enough to pull it all out and if needed by pass any hot wires needed for running other things.. Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Removing ECM (I hate wires)

I just unplugged mine in my 86 and put Edelbrock carb and dropped in a regular hei distributor. You could even take the wiring for the ecm (and the ecm) out but you would need to plug the hole in firewall.
