Do I need to remove the cowl to install a new stock antenna?

Re: antenna install - how?
Normally you do...yes. Some have a little butterfly toggle thing that will allow you do put it in and tighten it up but running the wire sometimes is a pain and only possible with the cowl off. I have in the past cut the old wire and used it to pull he new one through so not to have to remove the cowl, but in general it is the thing to do. The wipers at times can be difficult to remove. Put a blanket over the paint and windsheild when trying to get them off.
