Carpet Question
I'm getting ready to purchase some carpet for my crew cab... and I'm trying to make a decision on ACC carpets. They offer cut-pile and essex. Both are available with mass backing, which is a no brainer for sound deadening. I believe I bought some of the cut-pile for my single cab and it seems pretty good. Cut-pile offers so many more color choices and call out OEM colors where essex color pallet is limited.
What does everyone think about the 2 choices? Essex carpet is $100 more so is it worth the extra dough? Cutpile below Essex below

Re: Carpet Question
Essex is going to be tighter woven so to speak...Essex is the type of carpet that comes in Mercedes and many other german cars from the factory...it is very nice stuff...we put it in all of our high end street rod interiors that we do at my shop...

I personally like the cut-pile in our trucks.

Re: Carpet Question
I went with cut pile. Looks nice and keeps the price down.

Re: Carpet Question
I'm in the same situation as you are here... but I'm actually leaning towards the 80/20 loop carpet. It's not so fuzzy and appears to have a cleaner look IMO. I know its not the correct "period" of time.. but I found a blue they I'm going to go with (the complany sent me approx. 6 samples to choose from).
The previous owner of my Blazer installed the "cutpile"... and I personal think it looks like a "pile" It sheds alot... at least the one that is installed here.

Re: Carpet Question
I have ACC carpet in my crew cab I went with the loop it looks great but it did not fit very well had to do alot of steaming and pulling to fit all the contours of the crew cab floor and lucky for me it was black because there are still some area I am not 100% happy with the fit, but if I were chossing between the two I would go with the essex. Remember when you order the kit if you want carpet up the back of the cab to order extra. Thats what I did and also had my bed covered in the same carpet so it would all match.
