An electrical supply house will have what is called an "oil tight hole seal" http://www1.mscdirect.com/CGI/NNSRIT...59556&PMT4NO=0
looks like: ![]() ![]() made from steel and can be painted to match.

Rather than burn up my new paint with a patch and weld this works just fine with me . I will do my Vinegar trick to galv. on the engine side of the cover and then under coat it and paint it the truck color ..
