Skip white Hei

I'm looking at getting this distributor for my '68 350: http://www.skipwhiteperformance.com/...px?Item=6500-R can anyone see any issues with it? I've heard only good things about skip white so I'm not worried about quality just want to make sure it's the right one for my truck.
thanks yall!

Re: Skip white Hei

it'll work for your engine/tranny setup, i have the same as you. but you are getting what you pay for.

I went through three of them before going back to a regular HEI. it will run good for a while. i had the weight spring pins pull out or shear off of all of them. i also had the coil wires break loose. also remember that the extra 65K volts wont do you any good unless your electrical system can supply the extra power and the plug wires can deliver the power to the plug.

if you ever see your timing mark bouncing around, its more than likely that dizzy.

Re: Skip white Hei

The 6500-R you are looking at has a "...large flat Super [coil] cover..."

The 6501-R has an "...oem cover is tapered down on the top sides, and offers much more clearance..." (to the firewall--more of an issue on a 4x4 like in my potential application).

As of May 28 when I talked to them they were both the same price.

Here is an interesting thread in regard to quality: http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/hei-...on-178744.html
