step side bed question

I have found after doing some searching that a 67-72 stepside bed is the same as the earlier ones (pre 67)? i can get a 66 bed for cheap but its missing a fender

the box itself might be the same...but the fenders are different

The fenders and the mounting area will be different since the bolt holes won`t be in the same place.They can be used but they are not the same.

For what it's worth, and if I remember correctly from working in the parts dept at the local Chevy dealer years ago, I know at least the same tailgate was used for many years. I'm thinking 1954 to 1980 something.

`54-87 because they flattened out the side rails.I`m sure the head panel is the same,too.
