Wheel Cover Info
I bought a 68 Custom Camper 20 a couple of years ago for the AC parts. It was a rot box but I did save some stuff off of it. It had 16.5 wheels (those are the non-split rims right?) and a set of 4 full wheel covers with the blue bow tie that are 15" but fit inside the stainless trim rings so that they would fit the bigger wheel. Was this the stock set up for a truck with the larger wheels?

i have heard a few ppl talk about those, but never seen any proof of them (factory lit/adds). Now you just need to prove they are GM 'adaptors'

No, not the correct set up. Someone is being creative by mixing and matching pieces. In '68, the bowtie in grill and hubcaps were red.During 69 thru 72, the bowties in grill and hubcaps were blue.

There was no full wheelcover availablefor anything but 1/2t 15" wheels.Those pictured are 69-72 type.The `68s had no center cap and the stepped in area inside the false lugs was painted dark grey or black.

This is the correct optional wheel cover for a '68 1/2 ton. These are much harder to find than the 69 thru 75 style. With 16.5" ring adapters, these style wheel covers would look more correct for a '68, however, I doubt if they clear the full floating rear axle.
