Kickpanel air vents

How do you get the air vent doors out of the kick panel? I am in the process of cleaning a ton of leaves and cr#$ out of there but need to get a shop vac hose down there. Mine vac hose won't fit with the doors on there.

Also, anyone with a homebrewed cowl vent trash guard idea?

Mike

There has to be a way to get them out!
I've never looked at that!

But the cowl vents do need a way to keep out the trash!
I'd like to put something over mine
I thought of getting some chicken wire on the under side, but then I got drunk and forgot about it!!

I keep checking in on this one!

Cheers

LMC (and probably others) sell a stainless steel trash guard that attaches underneath the cowl. You could also probably make one cheap. My p/o should have, because those kickpanel vents are rusted out on my truck

One of the spindles is spring loaded (usually the top one)just pull back on the springloaded one and tilt out toward the inside of the cab then the fixed spindle wiil have enough room to remove it.

Have fun

Thanks Hutch, I was figurin' it was something like that, but I only got a chance to tug on it once before it got dark and I blew it off. I'll Kroil the heck out of it and then give it a whirl.
