Stepside Wheel arch mouldings....
Anyone know who sells the wheel arch mouldings for a stepside? I want to buy a set for the front and rear but don't see a stepside listing. The stepside rear wheel arch moulding is different isn't it?

Re: Stepside Wheel arch mouldings....
I saw those #38-7771's and didn't understand why it says FRT and Front. I didn't see the rear for stepside.

Re: Stepside Wheel arch mouldings....
Called LMC today to ask about the stepside mouldings. They don't offer a rear set. I did get some measurements from them on the fleetside. Front 35"x19" Rear 36"x17" Wish I still had my wide bed to measure. My stepside is still @ the shop so I can't measure it either. Can anyone grab some measurements from thiers?

Re: Stepside Wheel arch mouldings....
We sell the same brand of mldg's that LMC sells. We have the fronts in stock . no rear. I am not sure i ever saw one with mldg's. Just for info they do not fit as well as the originals but look OK. Kind of flimsy. Only like one Mfg of these

Re: Stepside Wheel arch mouldings....
Did the factory even offer wheel arch moldings for the step side truck? I am not sure that I have ever seen those moldings on a step side, but knowing my track record I could be wrong LOL.

Re: Stepside Wheel arch mouldings....
I don't recall that there was any side trim (body side moldings or wheel opening moldings) available on a stepside.
My 80, which I ordered new, did not have them. K

Re: Stepside Wheel arch mouldings....
AHA! I finally found one, i have seen a truck in portland that had the rear molding but couldnt find a picture of one... This has the later style molding, kind of a double bead with black paint in between, but i swear i have seen a solid smooth style too. I know for sure that front fender molding doesn't fit, tried it with a piece i got on a fender i put in my truck, but i dont know if wide box or burban would fit. the front is too short on the ends to even reshape to fit... Id appreciate if anyone might have any more insight?
The red truck is on ebay right now too pretty nice, not totally my flavor but looks clean! EBAY STEPSIDE Thanks Chris |

Re: Stepside Wheel arch mouldings....
You could always make your own or pay someone to make a pair for the rear.

Re: Stepside Wheel arch mouldings....
Local dealer has part numbers but are NLA. He didn't have a distinction between fleet or step beds? Wish I would have kept the ones from my bed before I sold it. Anyone have a wheel arch from a fleet that they can match up to a step?
John

Re: Stepside Wheel arch mouldings....
GM still sells quite a few GMC parts for these years, less for the Chevy but the rear arches are not listed. The fronts are listed for less than $30.00 each but no rears. Some dealer may have them in house but I doubt it. You can still even by cabs

Re: Stepside Wheel arch mouldings....
FYI as this is an old thread.
I ended up buying the fleet mouldings. The new mouldings are soft enough to re form to the step fender. It didn't take much. The rear curve portion was very close to the fender, more so than the front, so I mounted them at the rear of the fender and formed them to the front. I have to trim about 1.5" from the front leading edge to contour it to the fender. Got the look I wanted.
