CUCV. More gear, Detroit in the back, not having to mess with Dually hubs on the C&C.

Re: 1 ton opinion
CUCV. Because you will have SRW axles that can later be swapped on a blazer or burb or another puck up truck much easie. The Cab and chassie uses a narower rear axle. Ynless you want to run H1 bead locks not re centered. CUCV= Better gear ratio for offroad and large meats. The 208 while weaker does have a lower low range which helps.
Really depends on what your plans are and how bad the rot is. Plow truck to me means weak frame and rotted body so pretty much your getting a set of axles and drive train.

Re: 1 ton opinion
Is the`67 a dual rear truck or are people just assuming?Cab & chassis was available either way. That`s a tough call. The M1008 should have a Tru-Trac front, but to get that TH400/NP205/TBI350 is tempting.

Re: 1 ton opinion
M1008s and M1028s have NP208s. M1028a1s and M1031s have NP205s (I've got one)
M1028s have the trac lok front differentials, M1008s don't.
