Cab Molding Corners

Few weeks ago I had some friends help me remove the bed off my truck. Unfortunately, the 2 on the back corners of the bed weren't paying attention, lifted the rear of the bed too high and damaged BOTH cab moldings! OUCH. I know these are like $120 a piece from LMC! I'm not spending that so I'm keeping an eye out at the pick/pulls. Question is, how do these come off? I haven't attempted trying yet. Do they pop off with a screwdriver or are they bolted from the inside?

Re: Cab Molding Corners

One bolt goes through sort of behind the yellow chevy emblem, on the back of the cab it is just a retainer clip. Usually can slide them off after removing the speed nut inside the cab. The corner moldings are all over the place here, the long cab back molding (undamaged) is what I've been scouring for lately at the yards.

My side pieces were held on with 2 bolts per side, they are a bi^ch to get too, they are above the inner cab corner sheet metal. I bought a kit a lmc that included everything for like $80 bucks...however, they have no emblems what so ever on the cab corner pieces, but did come with all the mounting hardward and fit the cab very well.

Yeah, but I bet you left behind the part that is attached to these on the truck when you pulled them off...without it, you won't be able to reinstall these without getting another one, or just gluing them to the cab.

I agree, the corner pieces have metal mounting hardware (clips?) that you install in the corner pieces by twisting them into position and they have a wire type thingy ma-bob that serves as a type of spring to keep them from untwisting out of position, there are 2 per side and they have mounting studs on them that go through holes in the cab corner to attach them to the cab. My truck did not have the factory pieces on it when I got it (but it originally came with this trim work, the holes were there as well as the welded on stud like pieces across the rear of the cab) so I am telling you how the aftermarket kit I got from LMC was installed. I would guess it is very similar to the factory stuff, it did fit the cab very well.
Removing the interior plastic would not reveal the mounting nuts on the corner pieces, they are attached higher than the welded in sheet metal inner cab corners, the bottom of which lie between the bottom of the rear window glass and above the door striker.
