For the cost of the 400 swap, you can add a few items to the 350 and it will be fine. Unless your planning slicks and drag strip times. I tormented a th350 behind a spicy 396 in a 71 camaro for several years. Never roasted the trans but it ate two 10 bolt rear ends.
