20's on a step side???

I am wanting to get 20" wheels for my truck. It is a 68 short box step side. It is on dominators and 2.5" drop spindles with a c-notched frame. I phoned Coys and talked to them and they said that a 20x8.5" with a 4.75" backspacing with be best. Does any of the stepside guys have pics of their 20's on their truck. Looking for ideas on what to put on it too..
Do you guys think I will have any problems fitting them in there...
I seached, but didn't really come up with anything..
Thanx guys..

Re: 20's on a step side???

8.5" wide x 4.75" offset sounds feasible. standard offset would be around 4.5" for 7-8" rims. they would be close, but I think you'd be able to tuck them in nicely without cutting the bed.

WOW, that is sweet. That is the look I am looking for. 20x10 sounds like an idea. Going to look into that build and see what suspension mods he has..

What do you guys think about Boss wheels. I like the 329, 335, and the new 338.

Re: 20's on a step side???

I don't think it is a stock width rear-end in that truck either ... a 10 wide rear on a step side is gonna be very hard pressed not to rub.

Re: 20's on a step side???

Thanks for checking out my build guys. Yes u can run 20 by 10s in the front the reason its hard for me, is i made custom inner fenders and i made them a lil closer that expected so it rubs if turn all the way but i can still turn with the bags deflated. My rear end is stock i got the maximum lip i could get with out having to cut the rear end and still tuck. the only thing is you will have to cut or shave off the inner fender lip. not a big deal.

Re: 20's on a step side???

Do you have a closer pic of the rears and how you shaved the lip on the outer fender. Do you have a panhard bar to keep the diff from shifting and the tires from hitting. How big is your c-notch aswell.

I am leaning towards the Boss 329's

Re: 20's on a step side???

I just got my 20" coys a few weeks back with 4.75 b.s all round, mine is on a different frame than yours (a bit narrower) fills out nice up front you would need to do some measuring before you order

Ausmarty, I like those Coys... Are you running air or just static drop...

I'm Using a frame from a GM Aussie made Holden ute, The front is on the bumpstops but it is about where it will end up with drop stubs and low coils, the rear is lowered leaf spring and 1.5" blocks

Re: 20's on a step side???

|There is only 11 1/2" in the rear fender. It will be tight and with the rear axle moving from ride height to full dump it is going to rub or hit...

Is it easy to tube a sideside???
