Have a custom drive shaft made. it doesnt cost that much. Well atleast not in MN. I had the same problem/hell happen to me in my dad's 66 tempest. Doing about 80 down the road and BANG!! motor still running i pull over and the front of the tranny almost touching the ground, the back of the tranny hitting the floor and the drive shaft snaped in half still attched to the rear end (the other half i picked up out of the ditch). Turns out the flex plate is different between a powerglide and a turbo 400. So make sure you got the right flex plate in there for your tranny!!!!
