Looking for brake fluid reservoir cap

I'm leaking fluid from the brake reservoir on my '72 K5. It's got a crate 350, but uses the original power brake system.

The reservoir has the rubber gasket with the double-baffle insert tucked inside the "hood" that gets clamped onto the reservoir. I'm striking out at the local (Atlanta area) NAPA and AutoZone-type stores. They carry the entire master cylinder assembly, but not the rubber gasket insert.

I realize I can try a junkyard, but I'm wonder whether any board member sells these parts or has a better idea.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Looking for brake fluid reservoir cap

I went through the same thing a few years ago, then found that Oreilly's offered a rebuilt master cylinder for around $17. It wasn't worth it to me to keep searching.

Wow, that would be fantastic. Do you mean the metal cap and the rubber insert? Because it's the insert that appears to be leaking?

Send me a PM with the shipping cost and we can take it from there.

You da man!

Re: Looking for brake fluid reservoir cap

Yeah well, let's not get all excited yet

My PO put a nonoriginal m/c on the Jimmy, so the one I am offering may not be your style. LMK

Sounds like a plan, Blazerboy. I live in Decatur, just east of downtown Atlanta. Willing to drive any reasonable distance.

PM me and let's work something out.

Thanks!

Ha! That's my 86-years young father and I at The Varsity, the world famous drive-in restaurant in downtown Atlanta. My dad first took the family to the Varsity more than 50 years ago. I figured it was time to return the favor.

Happy father's day!
