3" body lift problem

i have a 71 chevy custom 10 wit a 3 speed on the floor with a 3" body lift and the hole in the firewall for the clutch needs to be cut or something so the clutch will be at a more vertical angle. how would i go about doing this because i cant drive my truck with the clutch 2 inches from the floorboard?

...ah, 3 inches.
This hould have been explained in the directions. You need to cut the vertical portion of the clutch rod in two and weld in a 3" section of rod. It should have come with the kit. The same pice works for either the clutch rod or the shifter linkage in the automatics.

OK, I'm confused? How did the bolts "fall out"? They should be tightened into a nut....
How would the original bolts ever fit with 3" lift blocks?

Re: 3" body lift problem

Do they tighten into a nut or is it threaded from the bottom to a nut plate in the cab?
