spindle question...

I noticed that the 1981 G20 spindles I got for my 5 bolt disc conversion are really, really heavy. my teacher says that I should have got 1/2 ton spindles because they'll supposedly be a lot lighter.

I really want to keep the front end pretty light on this truck. I don't know what I should do. 5 bolt discs aren't really super-important to me anymore... I wonder if I should get drop spindles and use the G20 brake parts and everything (with new pads and rotors) or keep my drums and rebuild them...

Wouldnt the spindle diameter be bigger on 3/4 ton spindles? Do the 5 lug rotors fit on them?

BTW the "other" forum is back up and running.

do I need to sign up a new account to log on to the other board again or something?

yeah, the spindle diam. should be larger with the 3/4 ton spindles which sucks... for me. oh well, I could always get drop spindles for a C20.

but I don't know, after thinking about it today I think I might just sell the spindles and discs for someone else who wants 5 on 5. I really like the slotted mag look and I'm hoping to find some of those if I don't keep some of my steelies or something.

Yup all the stuff was lost so they are starting from scratch. So resign up and you will get an email when your account has been activated.

Why do you want to use 3/4 ton spindles? Why not just get 1/2 ton spindles?
