still smoking, now what

alright, my truck still smokes when you step on it, and now it pours out antifreeze out of the overflow hose on the radiator. did overheat till i threw out the thermostat now it stays cool just overflows. anyone?

Sounds to me like compression gasses are leaking into the coolant and it's head gasket time. Hope that is not the case but if your building that much pressure that is the likely source.

could it be rings? or cracked head as well? this stupid motor has given me more troubles once i bought it. thanks

sounds BAD looks like it's got to come out and either be replaced or rebuilt if it's rebuildable

great.. well for around 1,000 i can get a new 350 in the bag still complete. i might have to part mine and put everything on that and get it for cheap

thanks guys, ill be pulling the head tomorrow and see whats going on inside, i bet head because this kind of head are usually cracked (461 camel backs) either be replacing or getting fresh 350. im sick of messing with it and not being able to drive this truck its all done this is pissin me off thanks again

Have you done the compression check yet? You said you were going to do that this weekend. What did you find?

Where is the smoke coming from?

never ran compression test, but me and my dad figured out its the head cracked or gasket, well i took the head off today and found a bolt that was finger tight and the rest are not torqued, gasket is shot, putting new gaskets in on tuesday and getting heads surfaced and maged. also the 461 camel backs usually are cracked. i read that all over on the net. and also my machinest said that also as i did have a pair cracked before i bought this motor. thanks

The reason the 461s are found cracked is...they're 40 years old and have been hotrodded to death..and been abused(as in your case) They were very sturdy castings
