Manual to Power Steering?
I was wondering how hard it would be to do any help?

Not hard. You need a steering gear and a pump with appropriate brackets. Fairly easy stuff to find in Washington.

You also need a pitman arm for the power box.

As long as you have all of the correct pitman arm, power steering pump, pump brackets and pullies. (Including the one on the crank) you should be good to go. WES

The only issue you may run into is that some of the earlier frames didn't have the recess (dimple) in the frame for clearance for the power steering box. I think those were the 67/8 trucks that originally had the slave cylinder style power steering. I think the 69/72 trucks all have that recess in the frame. It is right between the bolt holes for the box to mount to and you will figure that deal out if the box doesn't bolt up flush when you install it. Some guys use spacers to hold it off the frame and others heat the spot up with a torch and make the indentation with a big hammer.
When we did my son's 70 20 something years ago the whole project (it already had that indentation in the frame) took about an hour and a half start to finish. Use a good quality power steering fluid and not atf in the steering unit too. |

the only problem my 68 c10 gave me when i changed to power steering is the bumper bracket get in the way with my gearbox but all you have to do it notch the bracket
