What to look for when buying an 89

There's an 89 GMC Suburban, 350, TBI with 175,000 miles on it. The guy wants $500 for it as-is. I'm not really familiar with these age trucks. Anything that stands out as a real no-deal type problem? Are brakes expensive to repair or are there lots of ECM issues.

Thanks

We dream of a salt-free world here. I think GM pays the roads guys to add more salt. Hard to find decent vehicles unless they PO oil sprayed them each year.

He says it has 2 bench seats. Can you always put a third row in or is that an option?

Thanks

Re: What to look for when buying an 89

LOL Around here i learned it's safe to say anything is possible, its weither your insurance would like it ........is the question(i've heard that companys may not cover injuries ,aquired from a factory seat mount installed, aftermarket, without prior inspection of it)get buddy to look for the chrome mounts in the floor,or feel where they would be under the carpet(a dip is a good sign, flat is not)the 2nd row is usally a 60/40 split, also 89 would need 3 point belts back there the holes for them are prob there up top not sure tho the pics show the recoil box ahead of the wheel too
