Dash Pad dificulty?

Been debating on how to improve my cracked dash pad, cheap $34 carpet cover, $100 (plus shipping) plastic cover, or maybe a used pad replacement. (Not dong the $250-300 new replacement) How hard is it to pull and replace the factory dash pad?

Re: Dash Pad dificulty?

On a scale of 1 - 10, 1 being easiest and 10 hardest, removing the dash pad is like a 1. Hardest part is removing the instrument bezel, and I bet everyone has had that on and off a few million times.

did you use adhesive to attach the vinyl?
how did you make the transition from pass side dash into the gauge cluster?

Re: Dash Pad dificulty?

yea 3m adhesive, it was hard and you have to put a seam, wish I would have planned better and put a sewn seam in it, I was in a rush to get to a show. you over lap the two pieces and use a carpet knife and cut through both pieces at the same time and it leaves you with a clean seam...

Hey justpball,

Thanks for the offer, I don't think I'll have a problem. Silverhill is about an hour drive from me, wife was just in Robertsdale today. Nice looking Burbs you have!
