TH350C to TH350 non lock up

Ok so here is my situation. I bought a TH350C not knowing what it was and went to put it in my toy and that is when i found out that it will not work with my stall convertor because of the O-ring on the input shaft I would have to buy a lock up convertor and for a stall one im looking at around 500 or more. I could have my tired one rebuilt for less than that. So I was just talking to a tranny guy and he metioned that I could have the front pumps and shafts swapped from my old one to the 350C. Then i would be able to use my $700 paper wieght finally. Does anyone know how involved this is or any experience with it. Is it something I could do in my garage or do I need to pay the 300 to have a shop switch them? THanks guys and gals

I just picked one up from my sister-in-law's uncle (2) weeks ago and I am already trying to sell it or swap it out....................

I read the same thing online, pump change, fairly simple I guess unbolt and line back up, and chaning shafts not sure, I'd bet you'll be out a gasket kit time it's all said and done. I also heard some other minor internal changes had to be made, not sure of what nobody went into details. I know the gasket kits are like $40 on ebay for a 350 and rebuild kits go from $75-$150+ that included pretty much everything. I would ask the trans guy what it'd cost, I paid $60 for a used pump change last year, said he had to get some gaskets. If it's cheap enough let em do it, if not maybe have a reg. 350 rebuilt.

60 not a bad price I will havce to call around alil. the tranny guy wanted 300 for the change might be less if I reuse my old pump and shaft on the new one

Gotta remeber though I only had him change the front pumps, using one he had laying around, and he had to buy gaskets for it. I still think it should come in under a hundred, depdning on how involved it is.
