Questionable Measurements...

Got a question about lowering a 1971 Chevy C/10 Deluxe Shortbed. Some magazines say that the maximum you can lower the truck is 4/4, but i've seen as much as 6 inches. I'm wanting a stance, preferably using coils, that will even out the truck, and make it noticeably lower. The tires I'm running are smaller than stock, just not sure on the exact size. I'm running 15 inch rally wheels if that helps. Thanks.
