Re: brake booster question

I don't know if anybody else answered your question, but I'll try. It will work, but will take some fabricating to do it. There is a vendor on the board here that sells a conversion bracket with the correct bolt pattern for the modern boosters http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=339081 -you will also probably have to modify the rod coming out of the back of the booster . It may need to be cut and welded to either shorten or lengthen it. When my truck was still a 3 speed column shift,I put a booster/master cyl on it out of a 90 something Suburban. I modified the holes in my firewall so I could bolt the booster flush to the firewall. I had to cut the rod and weld my original clevis/adjuster to it. I believe the overall length was about 8-8 1/2 inches. It worked fine until I swapped the transmission out to an automatic, then the big diameter booster interfered with the auto shifter linkage,so I went back the the junkyard and got a small diameter booster out of an S10 Blazer. Works like a charm and it also has enough clearance for the 6 cylinder air cleaner without having to use an offset air cleaner. Sorry for the blurry picture
