How do you guys run your exhaust?

I'm planning out my suspension upgrades including a drop and I'm thinking I may have to redo the exhaust. It is loops over the trailing arm right where it attaches to the frame crossmember.

So how do you guys run yours?
Stock setup?
Dump in front of the wheels? Behind the wheels?
Duals out the back? etc, etc.

Just looking for ideas... pics would be cool also.

Mine dumps in front of the rear wheels right now but I'm getting a new true dual that comes out the back.

Re: How do you guys run your exhaust?

A friend and I (ok mainly him) tried 3 different times to get my exhaust straight out the back, never worked. I had to cut it off after I did a 2/4 drop and we tried reattaching it with new bends but still couldn't get it to work. Maybe with new pipe we could make something work, but for now it's dumping out in front of the wheels. We even had the bed off twice trying to make it fit and not rub. Keep in mind I have 3" pipe and a fuel cell back there too which doesn't help matters but the problems were with the axle.

Re: How do you guys run your exhaust?

When I did mine I ran the entire system between the frame rails...front to back. That way the lowest part of my truck is the trans oil pan.

Re: How do you guys run your exhaust?

Hey Fitz where did you get those headers, And how much were they. My longtubes dump out on an angle below the frame. They look like they dump into the frame.
Thanks.

Same here, but I've got a 90* sweep out a foot in front of the tire.

Re: How do you guys run your exhaust?

Here is the where exhaust hooks over the trailing arm. After the manifolds the two pipes join into one and it runs below the frame until here. These are looking at it from the drivers side. I think with a 5-6" rear drop the trailing arm will hit the exhaust. Looks kind of strange to me.

I'd rather not have to redo the exhaust when I do the drop but I may not have a choice. Do you think this will be a problem with the drop? Do the trailing arms have that much travel or will I just have to find out when I do the drop?

^having a small diameter h-pipe installed to eliminate the helicoptering effect with the windows up. Mufflers are 4x14 magnapak bullets. Pretty mellow cruising then wide open when wide open.
