I think a set of turbine wheels would look good on my 72 4x4 blazer anyone done this . I have spotted them on 80s chevy trucks and they look wide enough but I know nothing about them like if they were factory installed or what and if I can even locate some!!Turbine might not even be what they are called but the ones i want are cast alum kinda likethe general lee and a team van had. any info would be helpfull

No factory AFAIK, but they were a popular style in the 70's & early 80's. You're probably going to have to fine a used set. I'd keep an eye on craigslist. You may even want to become a subscribing member and post a "wanted to buy" thread.

I have a set that were on my Blazer when I bought it. I like them even though they are pretty dated looking. As far as I know Turbines is what most people call them but they are made from Magnesium not Aluminum making them a true "Mag wheel" I guess. My main complaint is the special magnesium styled lug nuts that they require. You can look through my build thread (de-construction thread is probably a better name for it) that is linked in my signature if you would like to see some pics of mine.

Oh and they were definitely not factory equipment. Mine are 15 x 10 inch by the way.

EDIT: I just learned that mine are aluminum, not magnesium. They still require those damn special lug nuts though!

Western was a big maker of the turbines. When I first got my blazers in 81 they were very popular. I recently saw two sets on craigslist but they were 5 lug and 8 lug 16.5 so I am sure you can find a set

If you look at my blazer in my avater there were on my 2wd Blazer when I bought it. I think and was told that they were Jeep wheels.

I have them one my C-10 and like them, but I'm from that era I guess... I think they would look good. I see some around here that are black with the face of the fins and around the rim edge clean aluminum. They are on black trucks and look good. I never cared for that in any other color.

For a more retro style, I'm going to use aluminum slots on my Jimmy with some 33's I think. Should look totally awesome dude!

I have a set of 6 lug, 15 x 10 Western mags, just like the ones pictured. They are around. I had a friend give me this set, which has 15 or 16 spokes, can't remember right off. I have seen them go for $40-60 a set of 4.
