Difference in 3 speeds

I would like to know which is which. I have the three speed with 7 bolts on the side cover. Is that the saginaw or the muncie. Can you tell me how to distinguish the difference. I think on has 7 and the other has 9. Which is which.

The saginaw has 7 bolts on the side cover, & is a medium duty trans(they will take a little guff). There were a couple muncies over the yrs, 1 we called the old "2 pin" muncie(from about the mid 50s, to the mid 60s) ......it was a very short case,1st gear was not syncronized & if memory is with me , it had 4 bolts on the side cover. There was also a later muncie 3 spd that was full syncro, & was a pretty beefy box.....im not positive, but think this one had 9 bolts on the side cover. I would have to dig out a couple old books to get all the details....crazyL
