carburator for a 250 ci engine
i have a 72 chevy c-10 with a 250 ci engine. after tring to get it to idle properly, since cleaning it with carburator cleaner. i can not get it to idle, and when it stalls gas spits out the top of it. i believe that it needs to be kitted. is it easy to rebuild? is there another carburator that could be adapted to the engine?
thank you for your time |

Re: carburator for a 250 ci engine
Those are pretty easy to rebuild & the results are usually very good. Make sure your float is not soaked up. Put it in some gas, & it should bobble around. If it sinks down to far it is no good. There are 2 diff. gaskets between the throttle body & fuel bowl. Make sure the holes line up. Sometimes you have to bend the link from the throttle shaft to the metering rod shaft. Adjust the metering rod like the directions show.
The only better carb is a later model that uses the electric choke. |
