hey guys i finally got my tbi motor in my 71 super now i got questions...
i have a good 87 c-10 computer wiring harness all the way back to fire wall inside the firewall is where the 87 got all burnt up. so basically have the compter harness and that is it! how can make this with out spending 400 dollars for a painless wiring kit? can i plug this into the stock 71 wiring?? if not would it be smart to snag another dash wiring from a 73-87 truck?
i have got all my fuel pump and etc. figured. i just need advice on this part!
i'm trying to do this low buck as my funds are tight.

you need the complete wiring harnesses for both. all you need from the tbi truck is the engine harness and computer harness. the power feeds/ box and lighting will be kept from the 71 harness, unless you want a modern style fuse box.

the computer and engine harness are the same loom the fuse panel and all the fuses ect is the under the dah and which got burnt from my 87. just trying how to figure this out on how to wire it in and have everything work.

I am working on the same swap in my 67. I planned on getting the newer under dash harness and using it. Should be pretty straight forward. Lots of power circuits and under dash stuff that the TBI engine and ECM need and that will take care of it.

I am planning on using the square body tilt column with delay wiper / cruise on the turn signal control stalk too. I'm sure it will take some fabrication work but I will make it fit.

Just need to figure out where to put the check engine light so it doesn't look out of place.

You could always use the space for the vacuum guage
