tried to sell it 3 times for 400.00...

Tried to sell this truck 3 diff. times for a good friend. The last time (2 weeks ago) after the man didn't come buy it, I decided the running Goodwrench crate 350 alone was worth the price my friend was asking (or the bed, or cab with clear title, etc.)
Just put in another 350 turbo, and changed the cracked starter head (were not starter bolts someone put in).
Regardless, in the last 2 weeks I have fallen in LOVE with this truck!
Have alot to do to it, but the girlfriend is super cool, and actually she will be repainting the needles in the cluster today. (will use that until I find an instrument panel I like, we already picked out the color for the truck (electric blue, or midnight blue.... the future gauges, etc) Was cute yesterday when it dawned on her, and she said, "hey, it's an automatic" (other truck is a 5 speed she doesn't like to drive)
Anyway, to top it off, I didn't have to buy it from my good friend (we'll work it out some way down the road) since he was going to junk it anyway.
Got laid off 2 yrs ago, and super broke, but friends are hooking me up here and there, so it's all good!
Have to run to find starter bolts, and a trans. filter then I'll resize some pics, and put on here. Happy 4th of July everybody!

Kewl... Sounds like you got a start to a fun project. It's also kewl that that your girlfriend is "in to" the whole thing. My ex-wife was not "in to" any of the hot rod projects I have had over the years... prolly why she is my ex... LOL

Anyways... congrats!

Can't wait to see some pictures. I can relate to the super broke part, haven't worked in over a year now myself.

I am sure a lot of people are in the same situation. I need to sell some stuff to buy some stuff, but I hate getting rid of stuff, may need it someday, lol.

WECOME FROM S/E KY. IF BEING BROKE WAS AGAINST THE LAW, I GUESS THEY WOULD'VE LOCKED ME UP YEARS AGO. IF YOU HAVE TROUBLE FINDING THE RIGHT STARTER BOLTS, JUST P.M. ME. I KNOW I HAVE SOME AROUND HERE (SOMEWHERE) & I'LL SEND YOU A COUPLE. JOHN

Re: tried to sell it 3 times for 400.00...

Just got back from helping a friend put a supercharger on his mom's 97 Riviera. Pics coming shortly. Thanks for the bolt offer John, but a friend was ordering from JEGS anyway, so he said he would grab me some (short/long). Did get the trans filter and fixing to put it on.
Pics coming soon.......but please do not over expect. Friend bought it,drove it awhile, and it's been parked for 2 yrs (trans. went out, or starter was screetching) Trying to clean it up. lol

Hey for the price you cant beat it. I've seen people do amazing things with a lot worse. And the parts you need to repair that are really reasonable. IF you need a passenger floor I have one that I bought and never used, you pay shipping you can have it.

Not sure if he's still got a junkyard or not but a guy named Danny Binkley out in Fairview used to have a junkyard, when I lived there in the late 80's. Good luck with your truck. I'm down that way every now and then visiting friends and inlaws, might run into ya sometime.

Oh and welcome!

$400 bucks is a deal for that truck. Keep us updated on the progress.

Be real careful with those jackstands on soft ground, especially if it starts to rain. I've seen bad things happen when they begin to tilt.

Did get the cluster back in. Looks better in real life. Just something I could do with no money, and hold me until I get the panel and gauges I want.
