Re: saw this! thought it was cool!
That's an 80 model with square headlights. One of the ugliest front ends GM did in my opinion. That would be hard to do with round headlights, but would look cool if done.

Re: saw this! thought it was cool!
you guys sure it's square lifghts? I thought the buckets and parklights looked different with square lights. The square light is my least favortie as well but I like the 79 round headlight style with the full chrome buckets.
I had a jcwhitney book from the 90's had a truck with a tube grille, tube headlight and parklight covers it was 73-80 style, but had fender skirts too.

Re: saw this! thought it was cool!
That is a 79 grille with a phantom treatment . 80 grilles were much thicker on the side that contacts the fender . I do like the look of it like that .

Re: saw this! thought it was cool!
80 had a larger park lamp, that one looks larger, is why I said 80 model. Is at an angle, so who knows. Looks 79 or 80 for sure though.

Re: saw this! thought it was cool!
that is a 79, the 80 is a little different with the headlight bezels, that is in an issue of streetrucks using all tubular a-arms from chassis tech with bags and there going to use some thing from chassis tech in the rear. the grill is different only thing i dont like is the cut out for the hood latch, they sell relocate kits that would of made it look cleaner or put a cable operated one.

Re: saw this! thought it was cool!
I concur,
on the square light '80, the headlight trim sticks out as far as the center section of the grill, they had to move it out to get the square adapter brackets to fit under the trim. I'll drag up a pic you can kinda see here and here BTW, I think the pic posted above looks killer!

Re: saw this! thought it was cool!
I'm probably one of the few that find the 80 front end very cool. Very rare imo.

Re: saw this! thought it was cool!
If done correctly the 80 front end can be sweet. On a side note years ago some one offered the phantom front for 73-80, i would love to find one now. picture this 73-80 dark color, chrome bumpers, chrome phantom grille, stock trim, porterbuilt front and rear............ SWEET !!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: saw this! thought it was cool!
that is a 79 front end guarantee it for sure look at mine has the same border around the turn signal light and the same curves on the side of the trim where it meets the front fender. I see my front end pretty sure its a 79
