55 GMC fire truck (or parts) for sale (not mine!!)
It's not mine and I don't know the seller...just saw the ad on CL. He can be reached at 417-241-1442. Truck is in Missouri. He's talking about crushin it so thought I'd give the group here a heads up.

Re: 55 GMC fire truck (or parts) for sale (not mine!!)
I think that sometimes people place an ad for an old vehicle and then threaten to crush it if it's not sold thinking that it might help sell it. They are usually asking far more than scrap value. Does anyone think the seller would take scrap value for that truck?
I sold some scrap steel recently and got nine cents per pound, wonder what that truck weighs. |

Re: 55 GMC fire truck (or parts) for sale (not mine!!)
I guess I do believe it is going away. He has 3 fire trucks (a Ford and something else-don't remember what it was). He quoted the cab with doors, minus the spotlights and siren to me for $500. If it'd been a Chevy cab it would probably be mine now. Fire truck cabs are usually pretty nice-low miles, well taken care of, and stored inside for a better part of their lives. Around here junk iron guys aren't very patient-if something doesn't sell pretty quick for parts they get what they can for the scrap price and move on.

Same thing here. If he's a scrap hauler, it probably won't last long.
