Re: Will I hate myself for this???

No brainer is right!
dude, i'd be in that chevelle and on the chevelle forums tomorrow. LOL

seriously though, i think you already made up your mind, i think you just wanted reinforcement for you decision.
The market for "those" chevelles is alot different than the market for "our" trucks, dollar wise.
With 12 grand i honestly would be looking for (2) two 67-72 project trucks. Seriously.
Enough to keep me busy for awhile.

For the love of god, just drive it before you forget what the truck is supposed to look like !....LOL

And I'm pretty sure the mother-in-law thinks he's lost it.

Re: Will I hate myself for this???

I'm probably going to try to find a truck in the 8k and under range so I have a few grand to throw at the Chevelle too. It's been sitting a while (since I've know him, and I've been married to his daughter going on 10 years...) and is going to need to freshening up I'm sure.

Re: Will I hate myself for this???

Thanks flashed... We'll see if he gets smart between now and the next time I'm over there. On the plus side, if he changes his mind (and who would blame him) I'm totally happy with my truck. I'm pretty set on moving the Impala though. Think I'd rather put the money into the truck if the trade doesn't happen. Thanks again for everyone's input. Like was mentioned, it pretty much reinforced what I was already thinking.

Re: Will I hate myself for this???

I was faced with a similiar situation about a year ago. I had a sweet little '69 C-10 that I loved. However, I stumbled up on a '69 Camaro SS L78 396 car (my all time favorite car) that I could actually afford. We had a baby on the way, and since I already have WAY too many toys, I had to move the truck to get up the money for the Camaro. Don't get me wrong, I really, REALLY miss my truck, but I don't regret it, especially when I'm driving the Camaro. I have turned down several serious offers on the car that are more than double what I sold the truck for.

Re: Will I hate myself for this???

That is a sweet Camaro. Love those, and you definitely don't see a lot of them that are anywhere near affordable anymore. I'm still holding out hope of keeping the truck and still getting the Chevelle. I'm getting some bites on the Impala, so I should be able to get in the ballpark. And he isn't in a hurry to get rid of the car luckily, so I can probably take my time if I need to. But when it comes right down to deciding, there's no way I could turn down that trade in good conscience.
