A guy that rents a lot from my dad had an 83' LWB sitting out front of his house for 2 years now. I drove by it every time I went to my parents. I finally said what the hell and stopped and asked him the other day if he'd sell it. I saw a few good parts on it. He said well if you give me what the scrap yard will give me for it, you can have it. We ended up settling on $300. I went ahead and paid him a week ago and told him I'd come back to get it today. He lives about 1/4 mile from my parents and it's on a black top road, so I figured I'd just pull it to my parents barn and strip it down in there.

I show up at his house and back the truck up to the 83 and unload the chain and he comes out and says what are you doing. I said that I was gonna pull the truck over to my parents and he said, why don't you just drive it.

I was like, I didn't even know it would crank. I hop in and it fires right up. Trans slips a little though. But hey $300 for a drivable parts truck.... Why the hell not?!

Here is a pic. It's ugly, but it has more than enough good pieces to cover the purchase price, plus I have a few pieces sold and what left goes to the scrap yard. I may make money on this!

That's crazy ! He let it sit for years because the tranny slips? More pics, so we can see what we could buy from you!
