57 6 lug wheels

Hey guys I just picked up a 57 chevy truck for restore project and I got a question about the wheels.

It has 6 lug bolt pattern and I was wondering if the late model 4x4 6 lug wheels will fit to these 57 stock axles or do I need to look for special wheels for this era? I want to go with Rally wheels!

Thanks for your help!

The late model 6 lug pattern is 6x5.5"(also referred to as 6x139.7mm) ... Not sure on your 57. If the pattern matches, they will bolt up. Actually fitting and not having tires rubbing will be more of a function of backspacing. The newer rims may have to have spacers to correct the backspacing difference.

Re: 57 6 lug wheels

Aren't there some center hole differences?

Re: 57 6 lug wheels

Later wheels will fit with no problems up to about 87. Newer than that, the bolt pattern is still the same but the center hole will be too small to fit over the hubs.

Re: 57 6 lug wheels

Well then let me ask you this! Can I convert the 6 lug drums to 5 lug rotors "4 Wheel disc" or will the spindles have to be changed out for being different sizes?

Re: 57 6 lug wheels

You can get disc conversions for the fronts that have 5 lug rotors and keep your stock spindles. For rear discs you will probably have to swap the entire rear axle. I am not aware of anyone who sells a disc conversion for the stock 57 rear.
