They used a Painless harness in mine, and shoved the PCM under the dash. I moved it back under the hood, and mounted it on the left fenderwell. I would keep as much of the harness as you can.

I used the Painless harness in the the Chevelle. It was good quality but the wire routing was truly painful to look at. I made my own out of stock harnesses after that one.
