Rear cab mount questions 4x4 vs. 2x4
Is the location of the rear cab mount the same on 2x4 and 4x4's?
Would any one have a measurment of the height of the top of the cab mount to the top of the frame? Its easy to get the front to back measurment from the bolt holes in the cab but need the height vs. the frame. As always, thanks for any insight. Don |

Re: Rear cab mount questions 4x4 vs. 2x4
4x4 sits lower on the side of frame. 4x4 uses the tall body mount, which lets the cab move more in relation to frame. It gives a smoother ride as the leafs are always stiffer than the coils. 3/4 ton 2wd also does this for a smoother ride. I don't have any measurements right now, but can get some tomorrow if someone else doesn't beat me to it.

Thank you very much for the reply. I have sent pics to ***************** to see if they have the correct mount but would like to have the measurments never the less. Thanks again for taking the time to respond and taking the measurements.

Re: Rear cab mount questions 4x4 vs. 2x4
The most accurate measurement I can get is...
4x4, top of frame to center of top mount hole is 2 5/16" 4x2, top of frame to center of top mount hole is 1 1/16" (The 4x4 I have access to, has the rear mount removed at the moment, and the 4x2 has a cab on it.) I hope this helps.

Re: Rear cab mount questions 4x4 vs. 2x4
Yes this helps, thank you very much. Can I bother you for 1 last measurment. The top of the cab mount to the top of the frame. I need to drill new holes. I can get the left to right measurment off the front cab mount but the up/down in reference to the frame is what I need to get it in the right location.
THANKS AGAIN!! Last edited by 67gmcstepside; 07-13-2010 at 12:28 PM. |

Re: Rear cab mount questions 4x4 vs. 2x4
The 4x2 is about 1/8". I saw it listed somewhere as .140, (1/8"=.125). I will get the 4x4 measurement for you before the end of the day.

Re: Rear cab mount questions 4x4 vs. 2x4
Thank you VERY much for taking the time. At this point I just need the top frame to the top of the cab mount and I can then drill and install the mount/cab.
Thanks again!! |

Re: Rear cab mount questions 4x4 vs. 2x4
Top of mount to top of frame is 1 1/16". Sorry for not getting back to you yesterday. Something came up late in the day that I had to deal with.
