How much can my 71 GMC 2500 tow?
Hey folks,
Do you know how much my 71 GMC custom Camper 2500 tow? It has the 4.10 gears with a TH350 and a 350-V8. Thanks! Aaron

Many years ago, I think it was in the late 70's, I pulled a 26 ft cabin cruiser almost every weekend with my stock '72 GMC 2500. It had a 350 with a granny 4 speed. I am not sure how much the cabin cruiser weighed though.
The truck handled it without a problem.

All depends on your power, spring rates, and tires. I have hauled 11,000 lbs in the box of my truck, only for 15 miles. It still had1 inch till the bump stops. I used to race stock car and would haul the trailer with all the spare parts and tires. I weighed 14,000 lbs. It is a c20 coil sprung truck, with the three leaf over loads.
