My dad had a 1978 chevy truck. Ugly as hell but it had a factory 454 in it. He threw a cam, carb, headers, on it and it ran like a raped ape! He left our neighbor hood one day and layed down a huge burnout and a cop came up behind him so he pulled over super fast and popped the hood. The cop walked up and my dad told him the throttle stuck and the cop let him go. Pretty good move!
i was on my way to school and got stopped by a officer for speeding 57 in a 40. i tried the "throttle got stuck" trick and he said "thats fine, ill have a tow truck come pick it up for malfunction"oor somthing along those lines, i freaked out and after the officer came back from his bike he gladly said "i know your throttle didnt get stuck or you wouldnt be in this parking lot." i replied yes sir. my mom didnt find this funny one bit and my dad still does not know about this incident

Re: yall ever done this?

Oh god, this thread made my day. Some of these stories are funny.

Back about 9 years ago, I was driving my 87 K5 blazer down a single lane road at night. There were about 3-4 cars in front of me, and the guy leading the pack was slow poking along.

I said to myself "eff this" and blew past all the cars on the right hand shoulder of the road (this was unpaved, all dirt)

Needless to say, when I passed all the cars burning out through the dirt it filled the intersection up with so much dirt you couldn't even see anything. Next thing I know, a cop pops me like 5sec later after making my right hand turn. Still dust and dirt everywhere.

I got a fat ticket for "Passing on the shoulder on the unpaved portion of the road."
