okay. i've had this 71 c10 for a little over a year now. i bought it fro parts for my 70 c10. but when i bought the truck i didnt look at anything but the body reallt. but the truck has everything but air. front disc brakes pwr steering and a 307. and it seeems like every person i talk to about these trucks wants to buy the engine. Is a 307 rare in a 71 c10?

307 was the base V-8 engine i believe. Power steering was also common, and disc brakes were standard on all 71 trucks. To answer your question, not rare at all. If alot of people want to buy it, send them my way. I have a few laying around.

ha. well i have a 70 c10 also. and it has a 350. no power steering(yet) no air(yet) or disc brakes. and its a 3 spd

the 307 is not rare at all. It was one of 2 base engines (the CS models had a 250 base while the CE models got the 307 starting in 68, or a 283 in 67)
Many 307s have been cast aside in favor for the prefered 350. It seems to be getting some popularity back due to its good MPG ability
