Inner fender install question

Its been a while since I first tore down my truck and now that I'm putting it all back together some small things have me puzzled. For instance, I'm installing my newly painted aftermarket fender wells. I'm using a stainless bolt kit but I'm curious about the large sqaure hole near the back of the inner fender. Clearly it bolts to the cab just below the firewall but the square hole is too big to support a bolt. The bolt kit didn't come with this bolt either. Was there a special bolt with a backing plate?

Re: Inner fender install question

Where can I find replacements? I didn't see these in the LMC catalog.

Yes it's a big, fairly think, "Fender washer" looking disc, that has a rolled up edge. It's kind of like a saucer. The bolt is nothing special, just fairly short.

Re: Inner fender install question

I used a large fender washer, as longhair mentioned, and a nice looking bolt.

Re: Inner fender install question

Hey thanks guys. I'm currently out of the country and will return the day before the Austin Heat Wave. It will be the first cruise since getting my truck street legal. Id truly appreciate if I could find these in the mail when I get home That would give me a day to finish installing fender wells. I'll PM you both my information. This will most likely be my last access to the Internet until I return next Thursday. It seems Italians aren't big into the Internet..yet.

Re: Inner fender install question

I just searched my bolt buckets, and I have just about every bolt, but these.
Geoff, your up.
Sorry about that, I typically save every bolt.

Lots of these auto-specific fasteners are impossible to find at Home Depot or most Ace Hardwares .... check your community for a retailer who stocks the line of Au-Ve-Co fasteners ... this product line has scads of the fasteners specific to automotive applications.
