My new '77 LWB

Here is my new daily driver. Bought it for $1000 spent about $300 on some routine stuff and a new battery. Truck apparently sat for awhile before being sold to a guy who got it running and sold it to me. Good running truck, some leaks but no mechanical issues. Found a small amount of rust that is within the capabilities of Bondo. And the front passenger fender has rotted and been over bondo'd in the front lower corner. Its gonna need to be replaced, or needs a patch panel.

Needs a windshield and the usual interior help. Seat is in great shape, not a single tear or hole, just faded. Can probably dye it! Decent tires for daily driving. Overall I am thrilled with my purchase.

I started doing some of the basic bondo work today to fill some minor dents. I want to drop the truck, probably 5/8 and I want to freshen up the interior. Get the body work done and then paint it. Wouldn't surprise me if I chose to keep the color combo, I kinda like it. Then I'll pull the motor and trans and reseal it all. Possibly freshen up the motor. Jazz up the exhaust....wish me luck, I'm still a student of this game.

Whatcha think?

'77's....with their golden trim...will always have a special place in my heart. I had a '77 GMC Royal Sierra Heavy Half that just couldn't be stopped.

Re: My new '77 LWB

Awesome buy! It reminds a lot of my first truck a 1973 chevy long wide. I got to learn how to change just about every part on that truck. many more than once.

As far as the interior parts....hmmm? LMC? Not sure, I need to find a good place too. It's just so dang expensive. I keep thinking we will find a complete cream puff we can transfer the whole interior from. good luck! subscribed.

Re: My new '77 LWB

Nice solid truck to start with it looks. I'm jealous actually, love 73-78 with the race track moldings. First thing I'd do is get a correct set of rally wheels. Those look like the 88 and up rally wheels, just not the same. Fan shroud will help out as well, keeps them a lot cooler.

Re: My new '77 LWB

Had to go back and look at that craigslist add to see the air cleaner...wow haha

Fan shroud is a priority for me. It needs it around here. The wheels too because i dont think the back spacing is correct, it handles poorly
