Re: found a old chevy cant identify the year

I agree completely. I bought this truck with two dummies on it. Both in the wrong place of course. Leaving 4 screw holes when i removed them. there was also a plethora of skulls everywhere that I had to remove.

Re: found a old chevy cant identify the year

Back to the truck and the question at hand. I agree with Aerotruck also. If you love these trucks as obviously we do then restore it. It sounds as though it really isn't your bag. The most I have seen one of these in stock trim sell for is around $17,000. You would be hard pressed to restore that one for less than that. However there is money to be made finding these old cars and trucks and reselling them as is in places where there aren't any in good restorable shape. So with a truck and trailer you could find these oldies and sell them to us up in the rust belt for a bit more than you bought them for and make a decent living at it.

If it helps you any i have 200 bucks tied up in my 63 grill. They dont make the 63 as a repop. You can get the bezel rings but not the grill itself. I hate to say it but if it is cheap you could make a profit parting it out.

Re: found a old chevy cant identify the year

I cringe earing the parting out, i may not be a older truck guy and cehvy trucks may not be my favorite far as classic vehicles, but parting out a vehicle like that makes me cringe lol. I think ive decided on a 72 plymouth duster i found in excellent shape and i may be passing this truck up, if i get a reply from the owner ill be sure to tell you guys if he is interested in selling in and how much.

Re: found a old chevy cant identify the year

ryan - from an investment perspective - the 72 duster would be much easier to make some coin on - provided the unit body isnt swiss cheese. 72 dusters are a very good year for alot of reasons - id say good choice but then again I am obviously a mopar man too- but Im here cuz Ive always had a place for 60-66 bowtie trucks -
now back to topic of thread - not tryin to incite a riot, but from my perspective a 63 stepside certainly isnt the 'popular' flavor and if going into a project to make money you have to consider this. A SWB Fleet Big Window on the other hand............seems to be the most popular of our varieties IMO - just something to think about if wanting to do one for extra $$

Re: found a old chevy cant identify the year

cant get pictures right now its all the way in town, I was crusing round town and bam it was a 63 chevy stepside, it has no spotlights and it is the same tan/white color as the previous one i found. The body seems to be in decent shape though better than the one near my house.
