body change

Can you put a 70 body on a 80 frame? I have a 80 4x4 and a ruff 70 frame and was wondering if i could swap the two and make one good one.

Re: body change

What about the 73 to 79 do those have compatable frames? I know that nothing is going to be perfect but i am looking to make this swap as easy as i can. I looked at buying a 67-72 c10 but people want so much for them. I already have a body but the frame is junk. I can sell the 80 and buy earlier for around the same price.

Re: body change

anything other than a 67-72 frame requires fabrication of all body and bed mounts and trying to get away with a different wheelbase and trying to make it not that noticable

Re: body change

move the rear axle forward, possibly chop a little off the rear of the frame, fab body mounts, make a custom body lift to keep the body lines lined up... it's been done, Mudder did it on his.
