new guy from cali. 70 lwb project

how's it going guys? been on this site every night since i picked up my latest project, a 1970 c10. truck a fresh rebuilt 350 and i believe a turbo 300 tranny. truck is a good start, no rust (except for bed floor), pretty straight body but has its short comings. all the wiring is shot, so is the steering column; body work done on it is poor at best. right now i'm in the process of installing a painless wiring harness. plans include bagging the truck, not to extreme in the beginning but as i get more experience and depending on money might go further. just picked up a 8 valve 8 gallon duel compressor set up with 2600 dom bags. plan on doing a 8" notch with bags in stock location for now. then either going with 4 link bag on bar or some porter built trailing arms. front for now just going with cupped lcas.

here to meet some good people that i can learn from, get some deals on parts hopefully and mostly to just read read read. if you have got this far congrats and introduce yourself to me and throw me some good links to read

thanks,

sean

Re: new guy from cali. 70 lwb project

made some progress today. thinkin ill start a build thread once i get some parts. got the bed off by myself with a cherry picker, that was exciting.

cant see in the pic but the bed is warped horribly

this is the worst body panel

no rust on the frame what so ever. a crack on the front drivers side bed mount tho.

well plans have changed. talked to a local guy and he is gonna help me and he has a 220v welder. going with SD 4 link with bags on bar kit. and going to z the front with recessed bag cups. just need to find out how much because i found out i have a c20 and dont think drop spindles are an option. and leaning towards 20" with some decent meat on em.

Re: new guy from cali. 70 lwb project

You might be able to find a complete C10 5 bolt front cheap and swap it out so you can get the drop spindles you want.
